Valuing Electronic Devices?
Why do some electronic devices remain in use for a short time and others formuch longer? The durability of electronic devices, in addition to their robustness and reliability, is decisively influenced by how they are used. The chapter, authored by Tamina Hipp and Daniel Fischer, argues that everyday narratives about the use of electronic devices play a significant role regarding durability. The authors argue that narratives contain value judge-ments about objects that act as mediators between user practices and productlife.
