Daria Humburg
I am a Research Associate and Project Coordinator for the "Leaders of Learner Empowerment" (LoLE) project at the Sustainability Education and Transdisciplinary Research Institute (SETRI) at Leuphana University Lüneburg. In addition to my role within the research group, I serve as a coordinator for the Individual Research Master’s program at the Leuphana Graduate School.
In my research, I focus primarily on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). As part of the LoLE project, I am developing a free ESD training program for school leadership based on the "Whole School Approach." My work aims to strengthen student empowerment by fostering active participation in sustainability projects. I scientifically support the development and evaluation of this program, which also serves as the foundation for my doctoral studies. My central goal is to make ESD accessible, understandable, and practical through collaboration between universities, schools, and society.
Before joining the team, I studied Law and Political Science at Leuphana University Lüneburg and TU Dresden, earning both my B.A. and M.A. degrees. My path toward ESD was shaped by my involvement with Greenpeace Dresden e.V. and the Lokale Agenda 21 für Dresden e.V. Furthermore, I successfully initiated and established a network for innovative ESD teaching formats and was working on a project, fostering the measurement of action competence in Higher Education until 2025 within the German Society for Sustainability at Higher Education Institutions (DG HochN).
